About the Lamborghini Huracan
What began as a tractor manufacturer – and, legend says, out of a dispute between Ferruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari over a 250 GT – has become a world-renowned marque that stands for power, individuality, speed, and Italian passion. Legendary models like the Diablo and Gallardo smashed records and captured the hearts of fans and the industry alike.
The name Gallardo, Lamborghini’s most successful model to date, hails from the fighting bull breeder Francis Gallardo. One of five key fighting bull strains (Cabrera, Miura, Navarra, Vazquena, Gallardo) carries his name. From 2003-2013, 14,022 Gallardos left the factory, making it Lamborghini’s all-time bestseller – and with a price tag from €160,000, also their most accessible supercar.
The Gallardo arrived as a 5-liter V10 pushing between 500 and 570 hp, driven by a rear-biased all-wheel drive. Its aluminum body shell was made by Thyssen Krupp in Heilbronn, painted at the Audi plant in Neckarsulm, and assembled at Sant’Agata.
The latest Italian bull easily lives up to its heritage:
Huracán was a legendary fighting bull of the “Conte de la Patilla” lineage, which won over crowds in 1879 in Alicante thanks to his fiery spirit and courage.
The Gallardo’s direct successor impresses with a sharp-edged, aggressive design. At first glance, it looks like a sleeker version of its big brother, the Aventador, but it is every bit as charismatic.
The “base model” LP 610-4 features a 5.2-liter V10 producing 610 hp. Top speed? 325 km/h. Thanks to all-wheel drive and Lamborghini’s LDF dual-clutch gearbox, this Italian masterpiece rockets to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. All vehicle information is displayed on a dedicated 12.3-inch TFT, developed for the Huracán and now also used in the Audi TT. The ANIMA drive mode system is controlled from the steering wheel, giving a choice between Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes. Strada offers a comfort setting, Sport is for spirited driving, and Corsa for those who love it wild. Every mode fine-tunes the engine, transmission, and chassis for a totally distinct driving sensation.
