When Ferry Porsche drew up his legendary design in the late 1950s, he probably never imagined just how influential it would become. Together with Erwin Komenda, he was tasked to create a new Porsche model to replace the aging 356. Requirements were few: wheelbase no longer than 2.20 m, rear engine and drive, and—above all—the unmistakable feel of a true Porsche, an ethos that now defines the brand.
Once a particularly sporty variant, the base model is now dubbed Carrera. No exaggeration for those who know this car: Even the standard version rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 s. Power? At least 350 PS spinning up to 6,600 rpm, blasting you close to 300 km/h. The ultra-high-performance GT3 and Turbo models break through 320 km/h and beyond… It’s guaranteed to be an unforgettable driving thrill!
