About the Ferrari 488
Very few brands have built a reputation on the level of “Ferrari.” In Maranello, the factory is regarded as a true dream factory among car enthusiasts, producing legendary supercars. Insiders say that driving a Ferrari is as close as you’ll ever get to flying.
Of course, a company this unique comes with a remarkable story. Unlike many carmakers, Ferrari didn’t actually start as a company, but as a racing team: the ‘Scuderia Ferrari‘ was founded in 1929 by aspiring race driver Enzo Anselmo Ferrari to support his own racing efforts. Active for years in Italy’s motorsports scene, he was always striving to go further.
After WWII, Ferrari resumed production of racing cars at the new factory halls in 1945. The Ferrari 125C was the first car to officially wear his name, entering various European races—including a fledgling Formula 1. The 125 was also the first model sold to private customers, marking the start of a new chapter for the brand.
What began as a necessity became Ferrari’s most important pillar: building road cars, renowned for their spectacular design. Design houses like Pininfarina and Scaglietti gave the new models their iconic looks, turning them into legends.
